Job Responsibilities:
Plans, develops, organizes, implements, and directs nursing services for residents on the households assigned.
Ensures compliance with current applicable federal, state and local regulations and facility policies and procedures.
Reviews complaints and grievances made or filed by staff. Makes appropriate reports to the Director of Nursing as required or as necessary.
Ensures an adequate stock of medications, medical supplies, equipment, etc., is maintained on the unit at all times to adequately meet the needs of the resident and notifies appropriate personnel of needs.
Assists in the development of written preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the nursing needs of each resident.
Daily assigned clinical checklists completed and reviewed by the Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing each day.
Reinforce education information and ensure information is integrated into the daily routine of floor staff.
Review nurses’ notes to ensure they are informative and descriptive of the nursing care being provided, that they reflect the resident’s response to the care, and that such care is provided in accordance with the resident’s wishes.
Assist with admissions and discharges.
Confirm risk reports are ready for daily clinical stand-up meetings.
Provide oversight and assurance that the overnight pharmacy stocking is completed by the night shift floor nurses.
Conduct and deliver annual performance appraisals for assigned RSAs and floor nurses. Provide more regular performance reviews as needed when issues arise.
Promotes teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication.
Promotes safe work practices, safety rules, and accident prevention procedures to prevent employee injury and illness.
May provide direct nursing care as necessary.

Qualifications:
- A nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
- Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse License required.
- Current CPR Certification required.
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of management level experience in long-term care, restorative, or geriatric setting required.
- Provide proof of a High School Diploma or GED.
- Pass a Criminal Background Check, Pre-employment Physical and Drug Screen.
