About The Role
In this role the Claim Operations Specialist will investigate/research and process claims to resolution for customer disputes regarding Regulation E and Regulation Z claims. This role will report to the Sr Supervisor of Fraud Claim Operations.
What You'll Do
- Processing, oversight and management of dispute operations of banking and loan disputes regarding balance transfers, failed loan issuance, loan payments, wires, ACH, debit cards, and checks
- Complete operational processes to ensure proper execution of claim resolution, notification to customers, managing exception processing, and ensuring appropriate credits and reversals are executed on behalf of customers
- Drive escalation with external third parties on the resolution of funds transfer and/or facilitate retrieval and redistribution of funds to borrowers
- Research and identify suspicious activity through comparative analysis to determine if the activity is normal or constitutes fraud
- Perform advanced account research and problem resolution
- Possess a strong working knowledge of and adherence to all banking and loan regulations, policies and procedures
- Perform excellent customer service with all points of contact including meeting/exceeding service level expectations
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with frontline sales and support staff to communicate information and provide assistance related to operational processes
- Perform administrative tasks as needed and other duties as assigned in support of a growing operations function
- Perform outbound communications and calls to customers to resolve disputes as required by the business, support inbound customer calls supporting dispute intake and first-call resolution
About You
- 2-4 years of prior banking experience, preferably in an operations environment
- Knowledge of claim and dispute regulatory compliance and bank and loan policies and procedures
- Proficient in the investigation and resolution of all claim types, inclusive of chargeback knowledge
- Banking & Claims processing experience and comprehensive knowledge of banking regulations
- Additionally, specific knowledge and experience with Regulation E and Regulation Z is highly preferred
- Excellent customer service, critical thinking, analytical, problem solving, decision making and organizational skills
- Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, as well as internet navigation
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
