JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for analyzing collections data, identifying trends, and developing data-driven strategies to enhance recovery efforts and mitigate risk exposure. This position monitors portfolio performance, optimizes collection strategies, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency and compliance. Advanced analytics are leveraged to support decision-making, improve processes, and ensure adherence to industry regulations and company policies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Analyze collections data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Develop and refine collection strategies to optimize recovery and reduce charge-offs.
- Conduct comprehensive data analysis using tools such as Excel, SQL, and data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau) to provide actionable insights.
- Monitor and assess portfolio performance, delinquency trends, and overall risk exposure.
- Collaborate with collections teams to implement data-driven decision-making processes.
- Perform root-cause analysis on payment defaults and recommend proactive solutions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies in all collections activities.
- Create reports and dashboards to effectively communicate insights to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Work closely with risk management and compliance teams to assess and mitigate operational risks.
- Assist in developing and refining predictive models for default risk and customer repayment behavior.
- Support automation and technology initiatives to enhance efficiency in collections operations.
- Develop and maintain performance tracking dashboards to provide visibility into key performance indicators (KPIs) for operations and risk teams.
- Evaluate diverse data sources, including credit bureau data, customer behavior insights, and alternative datasets, to enhance collection strategies.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory developments, and best practices in collections and risk management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, statistics, computer engineering, or a related field, preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience years of relevant experience in data analysis, risk management, or financial services, preferred (internships or project work in these areas will be considered).
- Proficiency in Excel and SQL; experience with Python, R, or other programming languages is a plus.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) preferred.
