Title: Facilities Manager (Part-Time)
Pay Rate: $30/hr W2
Target Start Date: ASAP
Work Duration: 1 year contract assignment
Hours: ~25hrs/wk (potential work schedule may be 4 days/week M-F, 2-8PM)

Intake Notes: This resource will be responsible for Facility Management to the extent of supply chain management, vendor coordination, and troubleshooting. Maintenance/Repair would be scheduled with vendors. This resource will be responsible for student workers (~10) to the extent of managing coverage/schedules. An inter-campus bus is available for travel between campus locations. Campus locations are metro accessible. Nearby parking is available, but non-reimbursable.
Facilities Manager (Part-Time) - Learning and Innovation Technology Environments (LITE)
The LITE Technologist supports our cutting-edge Learning and Innovation Technology Environments (LITE) at Rose Hill (Bronx) and Lincoln Center (Manhattan) campuses. LITE facilities feature Makerspace and recording studios that serve our academic community's creative and technological needs. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Emerging Educational Technology and Learning Space Design, this position assists in the smooth operation of facilities when full-time staff are in either of the two locations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Facility Management
- Assists in supervision of daily operations of LITE facilities
- Provides customer service and consults on maker projects with faculty, students, and staff.
- Monitors and maintains equipment, including 3D printers, laser cutters, audio/video recording equipment
- Manages inventory and keeps track of supplies and equipment.
- Enforces safety protocols and proper equipment usage guidelines
- Tracks facility usage metrics and generates basic reports
2. Staff Supervision
- Assists in supervision and schedules of student workers
- Ensures proper facility coverage during assigned operational hours
3. Technology Support
- Troubleshoots common technical issues with Makerspace and recording equipment
- Conducts technology demonstrations and training sessions for faculty, staff, and students
Required Qualifications
- Practical knowledge and 2 years of experience with Makerspace technologies and/or A/V production equipment
- Strong technical troubleshooting abilities
- Strong organization, time management, and follow-up skills.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple projects concurrently; ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with:
- 3D printing and modeling software (e.g., Fusion 360, TinkerCAD)
- Audio/video production equipment and software
- Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
- Basic networking and computer maintenance
- Previous work in academic technology support or Makerspace environment
- Experience speaking to different audiences and training users on technical equipment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 30 pounds
- Extended periods of standing and walking between facilities
- Manual dexterity for operating various tools and equipment
Schedule
- Approximately 25 hours per week
- Some flexibility is required for special events and programs
