LSSE Civil Engineers and Surveyors is a growing 170-person civil engineering firm serving over 150 regional municipal clients, private development, industry, and utility clients in the Pittsburgh, PA region.
LSSE is accepting resumes from GIS Analysts for our Coraopolis, Clarion, Greensburg, Harmar, Albion or Kittanning offices.
Requirements: 2 years GIS experience.
We are specifically looking for a candidate with a GIS background, well-versed in ArcGIS Online applications, that will act as coordinator for our Municipal Clients to increase client usage / understanding of the program and its capabilities. This candidate would be a part of our GIS staff and would work closely with internal company Client Managers (engineers) as well as the rest of the GIS staff.
The candidate would be trained in the usage of the TRAISR program and would also be assigned standard GIS tasks as part of their full workload. Depending on the evolution of our growing GIS department and interest from the candidate, this position could be modified to include the responsibility of managing the GIS staff and their workloads.

Experience using ESRI ArcView software: ArcMap, ArcToolbox, and ArcCatalog, ArcGISPro, ArcGIS Online and associated applications; including geoprocessing, cartography, spatial/data analysis, and map topology functions; familiar with relational databases in Microsoft Access and ArcView. The following experience is preferred:
- Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS version 10.x products, including Basic, Standard, and Advanced
- Knowledge of geodatabase creation and data management in ArcCatalog
- Develop and automate processes through model builder and Python scripts
- Knowledge of ArcGISPro 2.x and integration with ArcGIS Online
- Knowledge of ArcGIS Online platform as well as Survey 123
- Ability to extract data for analysis and interpretation, including international business data
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, as part of an integrated team
- Demonstrated ability to proactively communicate, speak, and write professionally
- Desire to work in a fast paced environment, while maintaining scheduled tasks, troubleshooting issues, and developing solutions
Additional Skills
- Experience managing and completing post processing of GPS data
- Experience in field data collection using Trimble GPS units
- Experience with programming and scripting (Python, Shell, VB, Javascript)
- Familiarity with ArcGIS Server
- Experience with ESRI's SDE, SQL Server, other relational databases
- Experience creating Macros in Excel
- Experience with Microsoft Access
Types of Projects
- Importing of construction as-built geometry
- Providing shapefiles to assist in surveys
- Creating exhibits for various applications (construction projects, grant applications, design reports)
- Stormwater and Sanitary Sewer data processing
Familiarity with the concepts and software of Asset Management Systems, experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or AutoCAD Map and the use of geographic concepts and formats inside of these programs a plus. Relevant degree (BS / MS Geography) preferred.
