Job Description
General Statement of Job :
This position involves the administration and preparation of employee payroll records related payments and withholdings. The employee is responsible for maintaining files related to payroll and leave and answering inquiries pertaining to payroll programs. This position reports directly to the Finance Officer.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities :
- Perform monthly processes for employee payroll
- Maintain accurate payroll assignments and leave balances, updating data as necessary and transferring to other required agencies upon request
- Assist employees with inquiries, payroll policies, procedures and related matters
- Request State & Federal funds monthly for payroll
- Process and transmit federal tax deposits monthly
- Verify and process employee W-2's and related information
- Process reports / inquiries for NC Department of Revenue, NC Retirement System, NC State Treasurer, Social Security Administration, Department of Social Services, and Employment Security Commission
- Calculate and process payoffs for retirements and resignations
- Verify employment and related information to financial institutions and other
approved agencies as requested
