JOB Overview and DESCRIPTION
The Slotting Associate plays a key role in optimizing the storage and placement of inventory within a warehouse or distribution center.
Seeking an organized and detail-oriented Inventory/Cycle Counter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing regular inventory counts, ensuring inventory accuracy, conducting audits, and supporting the overall inventory management process. This role is crucial for maintaining operational efficiency and ensuring accurate stock levels throughout the warehouse or facility.
Key Responsibilities:
· Inventory Counting: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
· Audits: Conduct physical inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies between recorded and actual stock levels.
· Data Entry & Reporting: Update inventory records in the company’s database and provide reports on inventory counts, discrepancies, and audit results.
· Identify Discrepancies: Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies or issues, including conducting root cause analysis and recommending solutions.
· Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with warehouse, procurement, and operations teams to ensure smooth inventory management.
· Stock Rotation: Ensure proper stock rotation based on FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles.
· Compliance: Adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and best practices in inventory control and auditing processes.
· Inventory Replenishment: Assist in replenishing stock as needed, reporting low stock levels, and ensuring timely restocking. · Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements in inventory control procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency
· Slotting Inventory: Organize and assign proper locations for inventory based on product size, weight, and demand frequency.
· Optimize Storage: Work with management to optimize shelf space, ensuring inventory is stored in a way that maximizes efficiency for order picking
· Product Placement: Ensure products are properly labeled, tagged, and stored according to company standards and safety protocols.
· Assist in Layout Adjustments: Help implement changes to the warehouse layout based on seasonality, product rotation, or changes in product offerings.
Qualifications:
· Experience: Previous experience in inventory management, cycle counting, or auditing in a warehouse or distribution environment is preferred.
· Attention to Detail: Strong ability to work with numbers and data accurately while spotting discrepancies
· Computer Skills: Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications
· Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting discrepancies and collaborating with teams.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify problems and implement effective solutions.
· Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift to 50 lbs. as needed. Comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
· Organizational Skills: Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
· Certifications: Forklift certification and knowledge of inventory control systems are a plus but not required.
Education Requirements
· High School Diploma or Equivalent: A degree in a related field (e.g., Supply Chain Management) is a plus.
