What are the responsibilities and job description for the Animal Care Technician position at Lensa?
- Cleaning and maintaining animal enclosures in a sanitary manner.
- Ensuring overall shelter organization and cleanliness throughout the day.
- Keeping outside walkways and runs clean.
- Assisting the public with animal surrenders, locating lost pets, and selecting pets for adoption.
- Reading and completing adoption contracts, registration cards, cage/kennel cards, and medical sheets.
- Performing general math calculations as needed.
- Experience in animal care or a closely related field.
- At least 6 months of experience volunteering or working in an animal shelter, rescue, pet store, zoo, wildlife rehabilitation center, or pet sitting for multiple clients.
- Ability to stand for long periods, bend, crouch, kneel repeatedly, and lift/carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Comfort with the possibility of participating in end-of-life care, including euthanasia when necessary.
