Application Engineer - Commercial Gears

WEG Electric Corp. has an excellent opportunity for an Application Engineer - Commercial Gears. You will learn customer applications and technical requirements to leverage WEG`s value proposition, promoting sustainable growth and differentiated customer experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical liaison for commercial gear and DC motor customers, by translating customer requirements, drawings, specifications and RFQs into product solutions that meet customer and business needs.
- Coordinate expertise and recommend solutions from cross-functional teams to application and performance problems related to DC motors, gearmotors and gearbox applications in the commercial gearing field.
- Interact with sales team and customers on complex applications to translate customer requirements into product specification and provide valued technical proposals.
- Provide input to leadership team on commercial gear applications, customer requirements to design and/or improve products considering manufacturability, quality, reliability, and cost.
- Solve problems with a thorough understanding of tradeoffs in problem solving to drive optimized designs.
- Act as the subject matter expert in product solutions at customer sites and serve as the main point of contact between our customer-s engineering team and the WEG DC product and gear engineering team.
- Support routine product introductions, deviations, sample development and new product introductions.
- Provide leadership and timely resolution to outstanding customer issues.
- Lead or support internal qualification efforts on customer impacting design changes and transition projects. Conduct competitive analysis on other manufacturers- motors.
- Support business with other tasks as needed.
- Bachelor-s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent related experience.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects.
- Skilled in organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating working relationships with all levels of personnel within and outside the organization.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, strong customer-focused behavior
- Familiarity with the gear, gearmotor, DC motor and/or similar industry.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel / Word / Power Point)
- Willingness to travel as needed (20% ~ 30%) in the US.
