The Assistant Category Manager is an entry level position responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of a category of products in the development and implementation of buying, pricing, and marketing strategies based on business trends and expertise to optimize sales and maximize supplier value. The Assistant Category Manager also assists in the development and maintenance of vendor relationships, including negotiations and customer service.

The Assistant Category Manager is an entry level position responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of a category of products in the development and implementation of buying, pricing, and marketing strategies based on business trends and expertise to optimize sales and maximize supplier value. The Assistant Category Manager also assists in the development and maintenance of vendor relationships, including negotiations and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Collects product content data and develops and implements planograms (POG) and flexograms (FOG)
- Collects information and assists with developing the Product Review presentation and the Strategic Business Plan
- Manages inventory with Supply Chain and vendors
- Collects and tracks bill-backs to vendors and vendor funding
- Creates new product set-up and maintenance plans
- Maintains product content data and performs analyses as necessary
- Performs key project management duties as assigned
- Communicates regularly with vendors, store representatives and other stakeholders to ensure issues are resolved and business needs are met
- Proficiency in MS Office programs (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- One year of retail-merchandising experience preferably in the automotive industry (Preferred)
