Business Analyst (SAP PP/MM)
Allied Mineral Products is a leading manufacturer of monolithic refractories worldwide. We are seeking a Business Analyst (SAP PP/MM) in our IT department at our Columbus, Ohio location (onsite position) .
The SAP PP/MM Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and providing solutions to resolve critical business needs, configuring system settings, performing testing, troubleshooting production issues, and managing small to medium complexity projects. This role works with global and cross-functional teams to ensure the effective maintenance and enhancements of SAP MM (Materials Management) and PP (Production Planning) modules.
The BA will work as a liaison between the IT department and the assigned business units to analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business process and policies. In addition, the BA will play a key role in the solution design and implementation of projects that focus on improving how the business operates while applying best practices to the individual business area.

Key Duties
- Gather Business Requirements : Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and document business requirements.
- System Configuration : Configure SAP PP/MM modules to meet business requirements and ensure optimal performance.
- Testing and Validation : Conduct thorough testing of system setups and configurations to ensure they meet user requirements.
- Change Control : Ensure that proper change control and project management processes are followed
- Troubleshooting : Identify and resolve issues related to SAP PP/MM modules, providing support to end-users.
- Project Management : Manage small to medium complexity projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project goals.
- Documentation : Prepare detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and user manuals.
- Training and Support : Provide training to end-users and support them in using SAP PP/MM modules effectively.
- Continuous Improvement : Stay updated on the latest trends and innovations in SAP systems and recommend improvements.
- Education : Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience :
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in SAP PP/MM modules, preferably in a manufacturing or related business environment.
- Experience supporting and enhancing SAP S/4HANA highly preferred; will consider previous experience in SAP ECC and other versions, provided candidate has a solid BA background.
- Experience in converting business requirements and functional requirements to use cases and user stories with acceptance criteria.
- Broad IT domain experience, preferably in three or more of the following areas: Applications Development, Enterprise Architecture, Project Management, Vendor Management, Quality Assurance, Infrastructure, and Maintenance and Support. Familiarity with business structure and operations outside of IT.
- Certifications : SAP certification in PP/MM modules is preferred.
- Skills :
- Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in SAP PP/MM modules.
- Must be able to drive collaboration among different personalities and departments including demonstrated ability to engage both developers and business partners to achieve target outcomes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Additional Requirements:
- Must be willing to work “unusual” hours when required.
- Must be willing to work onsite. (If remote work is desired, the company does have a hybrid policy with up to 2 remote days per week, subject to management approval.)
- Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed, to support upgrade activities and roll out to our international affiliates.
