Responsibilities
The Senior Business Analyst will work closely across business lines, departments, and the parent company to help facilitate process improvement. This is a key player in vendor, project, audit, and compliance management. The role will provide Project Management for key initiatives throughout the bank and will be heavily involved in the actual work within those initiatives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates functional and data requirements of a business process to meet business and user needs.
- Actively participates in the design, construction, and implementation of process improvements.
- Identifies and recommends solutions based on sound technical and business practice.
- The Senior Business Analyst communicates both verbally and in writing with customers and management frequently.
- Position works independently in a team environment to complete needed requirements, requires good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills and can elicit, gather, and implement user requirements, stakeholder needs, and deliver on shared goals.
- Has an ability to function in a consultative role and manage a team or project as needed.
- Candidates must demonstrate good interpersonal skills with the ability to work with both management and staff employees.
- Must be able to meet deadlines and accomplish other duties as assigned.
- Performs project management leadership functions as a project manager or team member.
- Provides coordination and tracking for key audits and compliance reviews.
- Responsible for various system functions, including: Incident, change, system, and project management.
- Provides oversight over the delivery of application and technology to department or other business units and projects.
- Responsible to drive processes and improvement initiatives by gathering and documenting business requirements.
- Responsible for overseeing the improvement of systems.
- Performing and participating in the analysis, design, documentation and implementation of business systems following appropriate standards and requirements gathering
- Communicate analysis and interpretation to appropriate audience
- Understands and negotiates needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders.
- Responsible for vendor management, including service level agreements.
- Participate in formal committees and working groups.
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, finance or a related field and 4 years experience in Business process analysis, gathering and documenting business requirements or other directly related experience. Strong academic performance or equivalent professional experience required. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.
- Experience with banking cores, especially Fiserv Premier.
- Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL.
- Able to interact with experts from multiple disciplines, both technical and non-technical.
- Requires strong analysis and project management skills, including resource and financial management.
- Ability to work with vendors
- Experience in analysis of business process and workflow and/or process improvement recommendations and knowledge of business processes analysis, business workflow and process improvement recommendations.
- Working knowledge of business systems and applications, incident and change management, project, and systems management.
- Requires strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with both management and staff employees.
- Experience with project methodology and knowledge of project techniques and practices.
- Ability to solve problems including multiple priorities and research conflicting and/or inaccurate data.
- Ability to elicit, gather and analyze data.
- Ability to function in a consultative role.
- Ability to set clear direction by defining goals, priorities, and evaluate/support the business needs.
- Requires good analytical, organizational, trouble shooting and problem solution skills.
- Must be able to meet deadlines.
