Position summary: JMT’s Washington, D.C. office is looking for an intern to support various civil engineering departments using their knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to execute various tasks and projects. For the duration of the internship, the intern will be given practical experience on civil infrastructure projects by rotating through the disciplines of water resources, traffic, roadway, construction management, and project management.
Salary range for this position is $20-$25 per hour commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Make edits and updates to existing engineering drawings and projects
- Coordinate new small-scale projects
- Assemble data and research
- Provide input on solutions to problems using basic theories and engineering fundamentals
- Assist with layout and design of routine small and medium-sized engineering projects
- Develop and prepare specifications
- Maintain accurate and current project documentation
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Full time undergraduate student in an ABET accredited civil, water resources, or environmental engineering program
- Coursework in water resources, transportation engineering, and/or project management
- Previous internship experience
