Zurich North America is hiring an Commercial Large Loss, National General Adjuster – Property to join our team! We are open to hiring talent in one of the following states remotely: Remote – TX, OK, LA, AR, KS, MO, NE, IL, MN, WI, CO, NM, AZ, NV, UT, OR, WA, or WI.

The Property Claims organization is dedicated to helping our customers at the moments that matter the most. Our adjusters oversee commercial property and business income claims resulting from weather events, theft, water, vandalism and other perils. We guide our customers through the claim process and help them mitigate damages and recover from those losses as quickly as possible.

As a General adjuster, you will leverage your technical property claims expertise, analytical and negotiation skills, as well as your leadership capabilities. You will manage a caseload of high exposure and complexity large loss property claims from assignment to resolution.

As a colleague of the Property Claims team, you will:

  • Manage a caseload of high complexity property & business income claims from assignment through resolution.
  • Apply your knowledge of insurance contracts, coverage, and other relevant documents and information to adjust losses.
  • Leverage litigation claims management expertise.
  • Learn and apply knowledge of Property Team Best Practices and other internal processes in claim handling.
  • Partner with other internal business functions to facilitate quality claims resolution.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in a team environment to resolve complex claims issues.
  • Partner with customers, brokers, vendors and other external stakeholders that are critical to the success of the claim’s lifecycle.
  • Support Catastrophe responses as needed.

You will be an ambassador for Property Claims and Zurich North America, delivering the highest standards of claims service excellence and best practices, and effectively developing partnerships with key customers, brokers and other internal and external stakeholders that are critical to the success of the claim lifecycle. You will have direct accountability for your overall results and contributions in support of Claims strategy and goals.

You will work out of a home-based office.

Approximately 50% domestic travel is needed.

To optimize the needs of the business and our customers, this position will ideally be located in the western half of the States.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims or Litigation area including commercial property claims handling experience.OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims or Litigation area including commercial property claims handling experience.OR
  • Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an associate degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims Handling area within the Insurance industry including commercial property claims handling experience.AND
  • Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s).
  • Microsoft Office experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of commercial property claims experience.
  • Large loss property claims handling experience.
  • Negotiation experience.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience collaborating across work groups.
  • Insurance designations such as SCLA, CPCU, AIC.

Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable range of compensation for roles. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. The starting salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - $125,000.00,with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
