Description: Our client is currently seeking a skilled and motivated CT Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform high-quality CT procedures with a commitment to patient safety and care. This role requires the use of ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes and calls for ingenuity, initiative, and independent judgment in executing duties.
Essential Job Duties
- Ensure accurate patient identification, verify orders, and prepare patients for examinations.
- Conduct CT procedures in line with departmental protocols while demonstrating cross-sectional anatomy competency.
- Apply proper radiation safety measures in accordance with ALARA principles.
- Critically evaluate imaging results for quality assurance.
- Administer oral barium products and intravenous contrast under supervision, adhering to contrast administration protocols.
- Employ infection control and sterile techniques throughout procedures.
- Operate and maintain CT equipment and associated systems to ensure the production of high-quality images.
- Utilize contrast injectors, laser printers, and electronic imaging systems proficiently for image manipulation and transfer.
- Complete documentation accurately, including time stamping and image storage.
- Adhere to medical necessity, coding, and charging protocols, obtaining necessary consents and maintaining quality control programs.
- Report any equipment malfunctions promptly and maintain compliance with ACR standards.
- Educate patients and prioritize their comfort and safety throughout procedures.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of CT experience.
- ARRT registered technologist.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
- Post-hire certifications: Departmental IV competency (within 3 months), controlled substance module (within 6 months), and moderate sedation module (within 6 months if applicable).
- CT registered by ARRT (preferred but not required).
- Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, standing for extended periods, and hearing/listening acuity.
