The responsibilities of the Engineer, Infrastructure Engineering role include assisting in the ongoing design and maintenance of the standard desktop platform, as well as the design and implementation of the desktop imaging solution and system lifecycle management. This role includes application packaging, compatibility testing, deployment testing, and hardware management using vendor tools. Additionally, the engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving desktop/platform-related issues and providing enterprise class solutions. Job Responsibilities
- Deploy, administer, maintain, and upgrade environments which are used in the support of desktop systems (virtual and physical, Win/MAC), associated support tools and applications.
- Evaluate, communicate, and deployment of global configuration changes for corporate owned workstations
- Configure, package, test and maintain desktop application software, as appropriate.
- Develop, evaluate, and plan process automation for desktop and systems administrative functions and monitoring for a majority remote workforce.
- Update, create, and maintain detailed documentation for tools and systems.
- Analyze, deploy, monitor, and report MS and 3 rd Party patching for enterprise vulnerability remediation
- Functions as the primary technical liaison between Infrastructure and other IT teams, vendors, partners, as well as the business to design Desktop/Infrastructure solutions
- Monitor the performance of the company's desktop infrastructure and make suggestions for improving efficiency.
- Research, recommend, and implement solutions to improve and keep current the desktop experience
- Provides technical support to the Field Support Analysts.
- Active Directory, vulnerability patching, Ivanti EPM or SCCM, VMWare VCenter and Horizon View (VDI), Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), Enterprise AV and encryption applications.
- 3 years of hand-on desktop administration or engineering experience.
- Windows PowerShell or Windows Scripting Host
- Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects and tasks while delivering within required deadlines.
- Strong MS Excel and data analytics experience
- Develop, document, modify and train global IT personnel on enterprise computing process’ and standard operating procedures.
- Azure AD Experience
- Intune / Autopilot Experience
- Group Policy and Domain Management Experience
- Enterprise Mac management experience
