Purpose/Scope
Amentum is seeking a remote Engineer to perform a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, manufacture, test, installation, operation, and maintenance of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems and generally as a member of a design, analysis or review team on more complex assignments or as a lead on less complex assignments.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform a range of design development, analysis or review tasks under minimal supervision.
- Generate complete design specifications of more complex projects.
- Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements.
- Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.
- Direct interface and liaison with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.
- Conduct site visits, experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.
- Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
- Support development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
- Oversee project activities to ensure quality, conformance with conceptual design, and completeness of engineering tasks
- U.S. citizenship
- Must be able to pass DHS entry on duty (EOD) requirements to start and maintain Public Trust suitability status
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years related work experience, or demonstrated equivalent
- Experience supporting FFRDC, HSSEDI
- Experience with DHS, DoD, or industry for major systems or programs
- Good communications and analytical skills
- Position may require travel.
- Active Public Trust designation
