Position Overview
We’re seeking an organized and detail-orientedEstimatorto join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing accurate and comprehensive estimates of project costs, based on plans, specifications, or design build proposals. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong math background and general knowledge of the electrical construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and organize project plans, performing precise quantity take-offs to create cost proposals using estimating software.
- Prepare detailed project scope proposals for owners, customers, and potential contractors.
- Obtain and review pricing from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with foremen and project managers to create detailed cost breakouts, generate bills of materials for ordering, and facilitate project turnover meetings.
- Education:High School diploma required; a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or relevant electrical experience is preferred.
- Skills:Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Industry Knowledge:Basic understanding of electrical construction principles and familiarity with commercial, industrial, and residential electrical systems.
- Technical Abilities:Proficiency with computers and familiarity with electrical estimating software is a plus.
- Communication:Exceptional communication skills to effectively engage with colleagues, contractors, vendors, and customers.
- Other Requirements:Strong math skills, fluent in English, valid driver’s license, and a good driving record.
