Job Summary

The Hyland & Self Pay Collections Lead (Remote) oversees and coordinates the daily operations of the collections team to ensure the timely and accurate collection of outstanding accounts. This role provides guidance and support to collections staff, monitors performance metrics, and handles complex or escalated collection cases. The Collections Lead plays a critical role in achieving department goals and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.

Essential Functions

  • Leads the Hyland and Self Pay collections team, providing training, coaching, and guidance to ensure efficiency and compliance with policies.
  • Monitors and analyzes collection activities and key performance metrics, making adjustments to strategies as needed to meet department goals.
  • Develops and implements process improvements and strategies to enhance collection efficiency and reduce outstanding receivables.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed records to ensure patient balances are accurate.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to address account discrepancies and optimize processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Performs Quality Assurance review of Hyland and Self Pay teams.
  • Reviews employee adjustments for accuracy.
  • Must work month-end every month.

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or GED required
  • Associate Degree or higher preferred
  • 5-7 years of collections experience in a medical facility, ambulatory surgery facility, or acute-care hospital required
  • 5 years of experience in revenue cycle preferred

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in collection software, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9.
