POSITION SUMMARY

The Implementation & Training Specialist plays a crucial role in the effective design, development and deployment of the electronic health record (EHR), practice management (PM) and related systems. The Specialist will support implementation of systems, workflow gap analysis and adoption of best practices, and on-going optimization of NextGen. The Specialist will train role-based Super Users, using identified systems best-practices. The Specialist will aid in the development, testing, and maintenance of applicable software applications and ensure the change management process is adhered to.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, computer/information sciences or related field, or
  • Three (3) years of experience using NextGen and/or NextGen expert certification
  • NextGen certification
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and perform in an ethical manner
  • Ability to actively listen, convey, and understand business needs
  • Skilled in communication (verbal and written), listening, problem solving, critical thinking, customer service, and project management
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s license
  • Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety for all specialty behavioral health locations

POSITION REPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the analysis, design, installation, evaluation, and optimization of NextGen and related systems or software
  • Develop role-based Super User training curriculum, based on software and industry best practices, and ensure their timely and effective training
  • Develop and maintain an in-person and online training schedule to support on-going Super User and End User proficiency
  • Ensure timely training that may impact end-user workflows due to software updates or additional functionality
  • In collaboration with IT resources, investigate and troubleshoot issues related to system applications, interfaces, and data processing
  • Support the design and implementation of workflows, based on software and industry best-practice
  • Effective collaborate with various clinical, administrative, operational and support functions to ensure change management, data access & governance, are adhered to.
  • Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, associations and industry resources
  • Perform root-cause analysis and suggest appropriate solutions through change management process
  • Create and maintain system-related documentation, such as business, systems, and functional requirements, process flows, status reports, and configuration worksheets
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to explore process improvement initiatives, measure results, and refine processes to achieve business objectives
  • Prepare presentations, for various audiences, to facilitate awareness, understanding and implications of various options or alternatives of related to system modifications and/or customizations

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds without assistance and may occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time when traveling to various clinic sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee may be subject to health hazards (contagious diseases, blood borne pathogens, etc.) when working in the clinic area.
