Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Foundations Superintendent to oversee and manage foundation construction projects within our Power Delivery High Voltage Transmission Group. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in various aspects of foundation construction, including foreman duties, general foreman responsibilities, and construction management of large-scale 345kV – 765kV construction projects. The Foundation Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of projects involving high-voltage powerlines and foundations involving drilled piers, lattice stub angles, and grillage.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of general foremen, on site.
  • Oversee the planning and construction of foundations, including drilled piers, stub angles, and concrete foundations.
  • Manage projects involving high-voltage powerlines (345kV, 500kV, and 765kV) and ensure compliance with both company and industry safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct surveys and ensure accurate placement and alignment of foundations and powerlines.
  • Collaborate with project managers and construction managers to develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust as necessary to ensure timely and within-budget completion.
  • Ensure all work is performed by industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Develop work and equipment schedules for the foundation's scope of work and report schedule updates to management regularly.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the construction team, fostering a safety, quality, and efficiency culture.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Foundation Superintendent, Foreman, General Foreman, or Construction Manager.
  • Extensive knowledge of foundation construction techniques, including drilled piers, grillage stub angle, and helical pile-type foundations.
  • Experience with high-voltage overhead transmission projects (500kV, 765kV, 345kV).
  • Proficiency in surveying and ensuring accurate foundation placement.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to develop and manage schedules, budgets, and resources.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a construction team.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
