Example of Duties
- Reviews, drafts, negotiates, and executes contracts and agreements related to Non-disclosure, Material Transfer, Data Use, and Sponsored Activity.
- Works closely with the Commercialization Team on identifying business opportunities related to Intellectual Property and incorporates those opportunities into industry contracts.
- Facilitates incorporation of suggested contract changes with subject matter experts in the areas of Export Control, Information Technology Security, Accounting, and others.
- Serves as a resource to assist faculty and staff on regulation and policy issues to sponsored projects such as intellectual property, ISU systems, and confidential information.
- Obtains an understanding of the assigned portfolio area to enable communications with the Commercialization Team and Principal Investigators.
- Communicates and facilitates discussions with appropriate internal and external stakeholders regarding negotiations and executed agreements, including administrative actions on agreements.
- Accumulates, enters, reviews, manages, and reports on data related to contract negotiation. The data will be entered, stored, and retrieved from multiple software systems.
