Position Overview:
The Additive Manufacturing Engineer will support application development, process parameter development, material development, and manage associated projects in collaboration with the Applications Development team and customers. This candidate will be one of the subject matter experts within the organization for DeD and shall provide mentoring as needed to team members in support of various projects.

Position Overview:
The Additive Manufacturing Engineer will support application development, process parameter development, material development, and manage associated projects in collaboration with the Applications Development team and customers. This candidate will be one of the subject matter experts within the organization for DeD and shall provide mentoring as needed to team members in support of various projects.
Description Of Responsibilities:
- Design & Development: Collaborate on designing, specifying, and developing applications, materials, and processes for Directed Energy Deposition (DED) machines. Document all related activities
- Quality Improvement: Enhance the quality and value of Nikon DED additive machines by applying engineering and scientific principles
- Project Leadership: Lead development projects by establishing and implementing standards and methodologies for evaluating product performance.
- Innovation: Develop and refine test methods to support new product development and standard product evaluations
- Process Enhancement: Improve manufacturing process capabilities to support the introduction of innovative products
- Troubleshooting: Work with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to DED machines
- Sales Support: Assist the sales team by addressing customer inquiries and providing effective solutions
- Mentorship: Provide task-oriented guidance to junior engineers during development projects
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all work in progress, documenting interim and results in the required format
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a cross-functional team environment
- Organizational Skills: Manage multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously with exceptional organizational skills
- 3 years (5 is preferred) of experience in metal additive manufacturing application, process, or machine design and development
- Demonstrated broad knowledge of Metal Additive Manufacturing, Powder Materials, and Processes
- Hands-on experience in metal additive manufacturing, focusing on DED
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present engineering information in a clear and concise manner
- Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience in CAD modeling and drafting is preferred
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
- Minimum: B.Sc. in Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgy, Material Science, Welding, or a related field)
- Preferred: M.Sc. in the above engineering fields
- Familiarity with widely accepted industry standards (ASTM, SAE AAMS, AWS, etc.)
- Experience with processing point cloud data from metrology equipment
- Demonstrated experience working in a cross cultured environment and complex problem-solving abilities
- Ideally experienced in working in a global, multi-cultural environment
