Job Description
We are looking for an Oracle Database Administrator to monitor, incident manage, oversee database security, and provide administrative services to ensure optimal performance and security of the Oracle databases . This position will be full-time and remote.
What You’ll Do
- Configure and maintain Oracle Enterprise Manager to monitor database environments
- Implement best practices for alert thresholds and integrate alerts with the ServiceNow system
- Manage incidents and service requests using the ServiceNow system, ensuring timely resolution and reporting
- Implement security controls to prevent unauthorized access, manage encryption and data masking, and handle audit and database firewall configurations
- Plan and execute patching of Oracle databases, Exadata, and related infrastructure following Oracle best practices
- Utilize the ServiceNow portal for service requests, maintain a knowledge base, and participate in program reviews to align with the strategic direction
- Maintain and upgrade Oracle APEX services, including ORDS and Apache Tomcat management
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
- 10 years of experience in Oracle database administration
- Experience working with Oracle 19c & above
- Experience working on complex integrations across discrete applications
- Data guard 19c experience
- RAC 19c and above is mandatory
- Experience working on Oracle VM farm
- Working knowledge of TOMCAT 9.0.0 and HTTP reverse proxy
- Thorough understanding of networking and VMware
- AVDF (Audit Vault) working experience is required
- Database cloning and patching skills are mandatory
- Experience with Exadata cloud at customer and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
- Experience with working on APEX architecture
- Strong understanding of Oracle Enterprise Manager, RMAN, and Oracle APEX
- Experience with security tools like Oracle Advance Security, Audit Vault, and Database Firewall
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience with maintaining multiple database environments simultaneously
- Willingness to work 24/7 as needed
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and ServiceNow
- Ability to work in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
- Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
- Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
