• $15,000 with a two-year commitment

UPMC has a robust new career ladder for Pharmacists! Pharmacists will be placed in the appropriate title based on experience by the recruitment team and Pharmacy management. The minimum hiring rate for a Pharmacist is $49.54.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate with physicians and nurses to clarify unclear, illegible, or incomplete orders.
• Provide drug information and educational programs to healthcare professionals and pharmacy students.
• Utilize computer systems and technologies in the provision of pharmaceutical care.
• Fill prescription orders in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
• Prepare and dispense intravenous admixture solutions using aseptic technique.
• Interpret and evaluate physician orders and prescriptions to dispense appropriate medication dosages.
• Identify and report suspected adverse drug reactions promptly.
• Sustain the formulary by minimizing non-formulary procurements and promoting rational drug therapy selection.
• Review and maintain patient medication records for allergies, drug interactions, and therapeutic duplications.
• Organize daily operational duties and supervise pharmacy technicians, aides, and student interns.
• Adhere to all regulatory requirements, professional standards, and hospital quality management policies.
  
  

Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacist in the state of Pennsylvania.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals.
• Proficiency in using pharmaceutical technologies and computer systems.

• Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy* B.S in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree* Required: Current licensure as a Pharmacist in practicing state* Entry Level – no previous experience required; pharmacist experience preferred.
