The Pharmacy Audit Analyst (i.e. Internal Pharmacy Audit- IPA Auditor) conducts remote and onsite, pharmacy compliance audits which help to ensure regulatory, compliance, and accreditation requirements are met at Optum Rx (ORx) pharmacies. IPA audits ORx retail/client retail, home delivery, multi-dose packaging, specialty, and Genoa Healthcare pharmacies. Each auditor completes approximately 12-16 audits per month.

Primary Responsibilities
- Conducts remote and onsite regulatory compliance-based internal audits within ORx by collecting evidence to verify conformance or nonconformance to the audit criteria
- Records the results of audits performed (e.g., checklist, questionnaire, etc.)
- Reports audit results concisely, objectively, and impartially
- Maintains confidentiality of audit information and reports any conflict of interest to management
- Manages and prioritizes assigned audits to meet mandated turnaround times
- Understand the audit purpose, scope, and criteria being audited against
- Serves as a resource to others on the team
- Assesses compliance with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., BOP, FDA, DEA, CMS, and HIPAA)
- Demonstrates knowledge of applicable medical/pharmacy terminology (e.g., CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10)
- Verifies the correction of previous nonconformities
- Remains ethical and adheres to the organization’s code of conduct and internal processes/requirements
- Attends, participates, and routinely hosts internal meetings (e.g., opening, closing, etc.)
- Works with business partners to identify and improve pharmacy compliance-related issues
- Participates and/or facilitates team engagement activities
- Other duties and responsibilities, not specifically described, may be defined or assigned from time to time, consistent with the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the incumbent by management
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of relevant work experience in the healthcare industry
- Currently located within 45 miles of International Airport
- Ability to travel up to 65%
- Ability to travel by plane, train, and car for a timeframe of up to 8 hours
- Access to reliable transportation & valid US driver's license
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification
- American Society of Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or equivalent credential(s)
- 1 years of experience conducting or assisting with quality, compliance, or internal audit
- 1 years of previous Quality experience or demonstrated Subject Matter expertise across multiple quality areas
- Intermediate level of proficiency using MS Excel (filtering and sorting data)
- Extended periods of sitting at a computer and use of hands/fingers across the keyboard or mouse
- Extended periods of standing, bending, and twisting at a pharmacy location
