Job Overview
The Quality Engineer will be working to implement automotive-oriented processes and best practices, identifying gaps against internal and external quality standards, and addressing these gaps in collaboration with Operations and Engineering Groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Documentation : Develop, update, and maintain technical documentation, including operating, quality, and maintenance specifications.
- Help drive the implementation and use of a controlled document system.
- Collaborate in generating Quality System documentation.
- Revise/rewrite internal work instructions as needed.
- Ensure all documentation aligns with IATF standards and other regulatory requirements.
- Customer Complaint Tracking : Work with the Customer Support Teams to make sure that all customer complaints are logged and tracked correctly.
- Customer complaint form generation and update.
- Follow up to ensure concerns are addressed.
- Start and participate in corrective action process for those complaints that warrant it.
- Upkeep and reporting on complaint metrics/kpi's.
- Customer Support : Work with the Customer Support Team and Quality Manager to support filling out required Customer Surveys.
- PPAP/APQP : Learn the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) systems.
- Work with Engineering and Customer Support to drive the PPAP/APQP processes for new products.
- Will require frequent interaction with customers in order to provide status updates.
- Audits : Help support Internal and External audits as required.
- Perform internal process audits.
- Assist in hosting customers during external audits.
- Drive correction action documentation.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Experience : 5 years of work experience in Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Customer Satisfaction
- Skills :
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Ability to train and engage employees at all levels.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other project management software.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality.
- Experience with ISO/IATF quality standards preferred.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Adaptable to changing priorities and able to handle multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams towards common goals.
- Primarily a manufacturing floor environment with occasional office work.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimes noisy environment.
- Some lifting, carrying, or movement of materials may be required.
