Summary Of Position
The Nyes Rd - Suite E office hosts all Cardiac/Vascular needs among the Penn State Health Nyes Road offices! This office typically sees 90 patients a day and operates primarily during the weekday.
The Registered Nurse will provide phone triage and care coordination for Cardiology providers, including conducting patient assessments, evaluating treatment responses, and delivering patient education. Responsibilities include starting IVs for echocardiograms, performing bubble studies, and administering IV diuretics as prescribed by providers. The nurse will also assist with prior authorizations and appeals for diagnostic tests and medications. In emergency or urgent situations, the nurse will respond appropriately in the clinic, utilizing ACLS skills as necessary.

- Serve as a professional nurse by assessing, planning, directing, practicing, and evaluating patient care in a designated group practice.
- Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
- Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
- Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
- Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
- Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
- Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments. Instruct individuals, families, or other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention, or childbirth and develop health improvement programs
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
- One (1) year experience in an acute or ambulatory care setting required.
- BLS/ACLS required.
- Cardiology, heart and vascular experience preferred.
