Training and Continued Education

Minimum Education
- Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
- Licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Respiratory Care Practitioner required.
- Obtained or registry eligible for RRT certification through the NBRC.
- Through education, experience, and/or training the individual is qualified to work with neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient and demonstrates competency in performance of each essential job function.
- Current RT license required.
- BLS required.
- ACLS preferred.
- PALS preferred.
- ASLS preferred.
