Gaylord is located in south central Minnesota about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord is the "Hub of Sibley County." Our location produces liquid egg, hardcook egg, and precooked egg such as scrambled, patties and omelets. Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: The Scheduling/Purchasing Manager, reporting to the Plant Operations Manager, plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials and ingredients for production. This position ensures timely supply of materials, as well as the efficient transfer of raw materials into production. Key responsibilities include material planning, production scheduling, and inventory optimization. The role also provides leadership to the Planning and Receiving teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and efficiency. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage production schedules based on product orders and ship dates, optimizing finished goods inventory levels. Plan production on a weekly basis to ensure smooth operations. Maintain inventory accuracy through a robust cycle count program and best practices for daily material usage in production. Lead and manage the Planning and Receiving teams (both hourly and salaried personnel), providing guidance, coaching, and performance management. Lead key performance metrics related to purchasing and planning functions. Coordinate with procurement to align production schedule needs with material availability and cost containment. Ensure seamless communication and collaboration between functional areas. Regularly communicate with departments such as Demand and Supply Planning, Customer Service, Marketing, Production, Quality Control, Engineering, and Sales to resolve schedule disruptions. Lead and contribute to various plant and company initiatives, actively participating in cross-functional continuous improvement efforts. Coordinate material movement between plants to support production Follow all safety policies and procedures to promote a safe working environment. Ensure food safety and quality standards. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 5 years of experience in production management and supervision. Experience supervising personnel in a manufacturing environment. Lean Manufacturing experience is preferred. Experience preferred with SAP & PPDS Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel experience #firstinpeople The pay range for this position is $96,232 - $150,122 per year.
