About The Role

As a member of the Confluent Partner Team, the Senior AWS Cloud Sales Specialist will drive business growth through the AWS partnership. This role combines strategic alliance development with sales and solutioning expertise to increase Confluent adoption on AWS. We expect you to leverage your partnership, sales experience and technical background to identify new opportunities and accelerate sales cycles. You must possess a strategic mindset with a proven track record of success in cloud partnerships.

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for directly growing AWS business revenue by working with AWS sales and partner teams to identify and develop new opportunities
  • Drive partner-sourced business by collaborating with AWS to find new workloads and customers
  • Develop and lead AWS-specific go-to-market strategies to increase consumption of Confluent on AWS
  • Enable and support Account Executives to effectively position and sell Confluent on AWS
  • Identify and create new solution opportunities focused on Flink and Connect (DSP) adoption
  • Lead technical discovery calls and initial technical discussions without requiring SE support
  • Develop and execute joint go-to-market plans with AWS, including co-selling motions
  • Work on the AWS program to support strategic deals for the Sales teamProactively prospect, identify, and help qualify new workload opportunities on AWS
  • Collaborate with Solutions Engineers & Professional Services for complex customer deployments
  • Responsible for understanding Confluent on AWS offerings and the competitive landscape
  • Travels to customer sites alongside Account Executives when requiredForecast AWS-related sales and provide regular updates to leadership

What You Will Bring

  • 5 years of field experience in a cloud alliance, partner development, or quota-carrying role
  • Consistent track record of success with cloud partnerships, especially with AWS
  • Experience enabling sales teams to drive cloud consumption and partner-sourced business
  • Previous sales methodology training (i.e. MEDDPICC, Challenger, etc.)Ability to lead technical discovery calls and solution discussions without SE support
  • Exceptional communication skills - written and oral including strong presentation skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to support multiple sellers simultaneously
  • High integrity, intelligence, self-driven, and team playerPrior experience in Big Data, Cloud, SaaS, Open Source, or Enterprise IT Solutions
  • Understanding of Apache Kafka, Flink, and Connect technologies and architectures
  • Familiarity with data streaming architectures and common use casesOpen to travel to customer locations as needed

At Confluent, we are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including work history, education, professional experience, and location. This position has an annual estimated salary of $146,400- $171,990, a competitive equity package and is also eligible for additional commission and/or bonus pay. The actual pay may vary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Confluent offers a wide range of employee benefits.
