Position Summary
As Senior NodeJS Software Engineer, you will use your experience to build resilient and scalable APIs for our Aetna Health customers using the latest cloud technologies and development methodologies. As part of the Aetna Health Digital Enterprise, you will be part of a team responsible of API creation from discovery through design and development and its production maintenance.
You will maintain a user centric and business-as-priority approach in design perspective and practice.
In this position you will partner and collaborate with the Engineering manager, Architects, Quality assurance, Business partners, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, and Project managers to effectively translate the business requirements and architectural designs into engineering components.
You will also work closely with Product Management, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Architecture to delivery highly reliable and performant products that drive business value.
You will collaborate across a cross-functional development team and stakeholders to make high-level architectural decisions, propose design patterns, and ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability of digital solutions.
You will also be involved throughout the entire development life cycle of a product and must be able to deliver an efficient solution, as well as identify and properly mitigate any risks to the product before deployment to production.
You will write code, develop software components, and implement complex functionalities according to product requirements. Leverage advanced programming skills to design and implement complex features, optimize performance, and ensure code efficiency.
Integrate various software components or systems, ensuring seamless communication and interoperability between different parts of the digital solution.
Write and execute comprehensive test cases, conduct code reviews, perform debugging, and troubleshoot issues to ensure the reliability, stability, and high quality of digital solutions.
Participate in SAFe agile or other development methodologies, attend meetings, contribute to project planning, and help drive the progress and success of digital projects.
Explore new tools, frameworks, and techniques to improve digital solutions and drive innovation within the development team.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, architecture diagrams, code documentation, and other relevant documentation while sharing their knowledge and expertise with team members, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and collaboration.

The Typical Pay Range For This Role Is
$92,700.00 - $203,940.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.

Required Qualifications
- 5 years of professional software development experience.
- 3 years of NodeJS development with TypeScript;
- 2 years of Cloud Experience; preferably with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- 1 year of experience working in an Agile-based development environment using Agile concepts such as Continuous Integration (CI/CD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- Strong experience with monitoring and observability and building scalable services
- Understanding of various database solutions (SQL, NoSQL)
- Experience developing GraphQL APIs
- Exposure to product/services development, cloud-based platforms is highly preferred (i.e. Azure, GCP, AWS)
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and collaboration skills.
- Adept at growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills
- Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills
- Professional experience with PostGres SQL on AWS
- Professional experience with DynamoDB, AWS Simple Queuing Services
- Bachelor degree from accredited university or equivalent work experience
