The Role
Lumen is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to join the Strategic Planning team. The role will focus on Expansion/Market Planning, development of collaborative planning solutions to improve network efficiencies, driving revenue growth, including detailed service delivery plans with physical and network layer designs, maps, diagrams, and cost estimates.

$82,969 - $110,625 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
$87,117 - $116,156 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
$91,266 - $121,688 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.

The Main Responsibilities
- Partner with the Account Team and Solutions Engineers to develop efficient architecture solutions for new customer deals and network expense recovery.
- Develop collaborative planning solutions to aid in the long-term growth of the company from a network advancement and revenue perspective.
- Improve network efficiencies by addressing latency, owned vs leased assets, and deployment of new technology.
- Drive revenue growth by identifying new near net assets in high revenue growth areas and expansion markets.
- Create detailed plans providing service delivery solutions to customer or data center locations, including physical and network layer plans, maps, diagrams, and cost estimates.
- Provide support through the implementation stages by performing capital budget/variance management and network design reviews.
What We Look For in a Candidate
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and 6 years of relevant experience
- 4 years of related experience with a Master's degree
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting with demonstrated proficiency in VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
- Proficiency in utilizing internal mapping tools for map-based design tasks
- Effective collaboration and communication skills with ability to delegate to internal project stakeholders and third-party vendor partners
- Experience with and foundational understanding of internal mapping tools like ArcGIS or comparable for designing within detailed maps and diagrams to depict design plan initiatives
- Project Management or Lean Six Sigma certification or demonstrated experience driving process improvement utilizing such methodologies
