Data Infrastructure is at the core of Indeed’s data driven culture. The Data Infrastructure group is responsible for building and maintaining the platforms and frameworks which drive Indeed’s data ecosystem.
Osiris is a critical component of the Indeed Data Infrastructure. Home-grown at Indeed, Osiris started as a more efficient replacement for Apache HBase. Today, Osiris serves over 50 PB of data, powering mission-critical datasets and products including LogRepo, job archive, Harvester, and Proctor. This enables Indeedians to make data-driven selections, enhancing productivity and operational efficiency.
As a software engineer on the Osiris team, you will be responsible for developing and operationalizing Osiris, a proprietary petabyte scale distributed key value store developed here at Indeed.

Who You Are
- Demonstrate product ownership - if you build it, you own and support it
- Improves testability, operational excellence (OE) metrics, and team documentation for Osiris.
- Build product capabilities that are frictionless to adopt by Indeed’s product and engineering teams to improve our product security, reliability, performance, and usability.
- You have a passion for producing the highest quality code as well as leading others to do the same.
- You have a passion for building scalable, reliable systems that handle hundreds of terabytes of data every day.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends in distributed systems and big data storage technologies.
- Solid knowledge of data structures & algorithms and excellent programming skills.
- Detail oriented, capable of autonomously researching alternative solutions and making technical and design approach trade-off recommendations
- Understanding of measuring reliability through SLAs/SLOs and driving a culture centered on operational metrics.
- Proficiency with at least one high level programming language (i.e. Python, Golang, Java, etc.)
- Ability to work efficiently on a remote/distributed team.
- Knowledge of databases, both SQL and NoSQL
- Bachelors in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields
