What you'll do...

As a Software Engineer III, you’ll spend your days translating requirements into solutions, writing code, collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing us with the insights necessary to think beyond the status quo. You’ll oversee small project teams consisting of other engineers who will look to you as a trusted advisor, a subject matter expert who provides guidance and the right tools to get the job done.

Our team creates reusable technologies to help with customer acquisition, onboarding, and empowering merchants, while ensuring a seamless experience for both of these stakeholders. We also optimize tariffs and assortment in accordance with Walmart's Everyday Low Cost philosophy. We not only create affordability, but we also deliver customized experiences for customers across all channels - in-store, mobile app, and websites.

What You'll Do

  • Translate requirements into project parameters while working with agility from cradle to grave.
  • Help cross-functional teams to solve for business problems and develop solutions that enable us to redefine a “best-in-class” customer experience.
  • Encourage your team to work collaboratively and to aim for insight-driven outcomes
  • Teach others and empower those around you to excel

What You'll Bring

  • Expert level knowledge of Java
  • Experience in developing microservices architecture using Java Spring Boot
  • Experience in configuring queue and topic routes for the message flow between applications using Apache Kafka or similar messaging framework
  • Good understanding of cloud-based architecture including containers such as Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00



Additional Compensation Includes Annual Or Quarterly Performance Bonuses.
