Our client is seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator with a strong background in Microsoft SQL Server management. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in database design, performance tuning, and web server administration. Responsibilities
- Design and maintain the physical data storage, database security, and manage access controls.
- Perform regular database backups and implement recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Optimize database performance through tuning and resource allocation to meet system demands.
- Assist in the administration of web servers focusing on web applications' deployment, connectivity, and ongoing maintenance.
- Provide expert-level support for troubleshooting production issues and contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle.
- Engage in capacity management, operational planning, and the implementation of continuous improvement strategies for database and web server environments.
- Ensure compliance with database and security standards and manage SQL server encryption and data protection protocols.
- Support the migration of databases from on-premises environments to cloud-based platforms, enhancing system efficiency and scalability.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a MS SQL Server database administrator.
- Proven expertise in database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016, 2019, and 2022.
- Proficient in managing web servers, specifically MS Internet Information Services (IIS).
- Experience with SSIS package creation and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with on-prem to cloud migrations.
- Familiarity with PowerShell, database source control, and continuous integration tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively in a dynamic team environment.
- Microsoft Certification in SQL Server Database Administration is preferred.
