Raytheon Industry 4.0 - Connected Factory Intelligence & Automation (CFI&A) has an immediate career-growth opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and innovative Software Engineer team member to join our Team.

  • As a Software Engineer , you will be a key contributor to design, development, integration, and testing and deployment of advanced IIoT / Industry 4.0 technologies based in Ignition.
  • Additionally, this role will perform root cause corrective action (RCCA) for any hardware and software issues identified in the CFI&A products in the manufacturing factory while supporting data analytics and data visualization efforts.
  • The role will work in close collaboration with connected factory engineering, chief engineers / architects, front end of the business, and CFI&A / factory leadership and will include all aspects of the product development lifecycle - planning, requirements, design, development, test, deployment, and sustainment.

What You Will Do

  • Execute projects involving Ignition application development.
  • Contribute to IIoT continued growth and deployment by working with sensors, gateways, connectivity solutions, APIs, and data analytic platforms.
  • Provide recommendations and execution on methods to connect manufacturing equipment to IIoT/OT layer network
  • Set communication protocols and network configurations on network devices (EIP, Modbus/TCP, MQTT, etc).
  • Contribute to major team projects as well as work with minimal oversight to solve complex problems
  • Support CFI&A Engineering Systems.
  • Expected to Travel 10% of the time.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires an applicable Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred)
  • 5 years applicable related experience, to include Ignition SCADA development using combination of tools such as: SQL, Python, C#/.NET, HTML5, JSON
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance and who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Ignition gold certification or willingness to achieve within first year
  • Experience with any of the following: Splunk!, PowerBI, GraphQL, Tableau, SQL Server, SAP, Eyelit, Windows Task Scheduler Automation, SQL Server job agent automation, SQL Server SSIS
  • Knowledge of scripting and dashboarding.
  • Knowledge of Industry 4.0 key concepts – connectivity, data collection, IIoT, systems integration, AI, machine learning, ISA-95, Pub/Sub.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus/TCP, MQTT, EIP, SECS/GEM, etc.
  • Knowledge of scripting and dashboarding
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; experience working across organization boundaries.
  • Experience building APIs and creating web applications
  • Knowledge of distributed controls, cyber security, IT infrastructure integration or other related fields
  • Experience with data analytics with skills that demonstrate ability to prepare, process, analyze, and visualize significant amounts of information from multiple data sources.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps services framework
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment and familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems)
  • Understanding of automation systems (robots, vision systems, PLCs, etc.) deployment and integration

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
