- As a Software Engineer , you will be a key contributor to design, development, integration, and testing and deployment of advanced IIoT / Industry 4.0 technologies based in Ignition.
- Additionally, this role will perform root cause corrective action (RCCA) for any hardware and software issues identified in the CFI&A products in the manufacturing factory while supporting data analytics and data visualization efforts.
- The role will work in close collaboration with connected factory engineering, chief engineers / architects, front end of the business, and CFI&A / factory leadership and will include all aspects of the product development lifecycle - planning, requirements, design, development, test, deployment, and sustainment.
- Execute projects involving Ignition application development.
- Contribute to IIoT continued growth and deployment by working with sensors, gateways, connectivity solutions, APIs, and data analytic platforms.
- Provide recommendations and execution on methods to connect manufacturing equipment to IIoT/OT layer network
- Set communication protocols and network configurations on network devices (EIP, Modbus/TCP, MQTT, etc).
- Contribute to major team projects as well as work with minimal oversight to solve complex problems
- Support CFI&A Engineering Systems.
- Expected to Travel 10% of the time.

- You will obtain invaluable experience working with our I4.0 subject matter experts in addition to Digital Technologies specialists, our customer base, and cross-functional team.
- You will manage system integration projects and provide reliable data to the Customer enabling them to make informed decisions in their product area.
- Typically requires an applicable Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred)
- 5 years applicable related experience, to include Ignition SCADA development using combination of tools such as: SQL, Python, C#/.NET, HTML5, JSON
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance and who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Ignition gold certification or willingness to achieve within first year
- Experience with any of the following: Splunk!, PowerBI, GraphQL, Tableau, SQL Server, SAP, Eyelit, Windows Task Scheduler Automation, SQL Server job agent automation, SQL Server SSIS
- Knowledge of scripting and dashboarding.
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0 key concepts – connectivity, data collection, IIoT, systems integration, AI, machine learning, ISA-95, Pub/Sub.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus/TCP, MQTT, EIP, SECS/GEM, etc.
- Knowledge of scripting and dashboarding
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; experience working across organization boundaries.
- Experience building APIs and creating web applications
- Knowledge of distributed controls, cyber security, IT infrastructure integration or other related fields
- Experience with data analytics with skills that demonstrate ability to prepare, process, analyze, and visualize significant amounts of information from multiple data sources.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps services framework
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment and familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems)
- Understanding of automation systems (robots, vision systems, PLCs, etc.) deployment and integration
