Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to spearhead enhancing and scaling a critical cloud native self-service platform for a large healthcare entity. This role plays a critical role in designing and overseeing the architecture of software systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives, scalability, and maintainability. This role involves translating business requirements into technical solutions, guiding development teams, and driving architectural decisions. This role will act as the primary contact for the overall application landscape for the program.
Additional Responsibilities Include
Lead the design and development of software architecture, considering factors such as scalability, performance, security, and usability.
Collaborate with product and delivery team members to plan, design and build products to meet business objectives and goals. Helping make tradeoffs between technical, business and team needs.
Do code reviews, prototype, build reference code, and when required help deliver software in a collaborative fashion with development teams to ensure project timelines and goals.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, supporting their growth and understanding of development practices architecture and team development.
Consistent and high-quality codebase, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among team members.
Evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and tools to support architectural decisions and enhance system capabilities.
Adoption of appropriate technologies that improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Identify technical risks and dependencies early in the project lifecycle and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
Reduced project risks, minimized disruptions, and improved project predictability.
Documentation And Communication
Document architectural designs, patterns, and decisions, and communicate them effectively to stakeholders, development teams, and other relevant parties.
Clear understanding of architectural principles and design rationale, facilitating collaboration and decision-making.
Rate Target: $195,000 - $250,000 Annualized

Skills And Requirements
5 year in infrastructure/devops/platform engineering
Experience in Solution architecture, specifically using modeling tools (e.g., Sparx Enterprise Architect, Flowchart Maker & Online Diagram Software, CloudCraft)
Strong Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
Strong knowledge of programming & scripting languages such as Python, bash, C#, .NET Core or similar, as well as infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform, Crossplane or CLI development
Deep experience with containerization related technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and Helm
Monitoring and Security Tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Snyk)
Familiarity with core infrastructure services, build pipelines and cloud networking Experience with cloud-native databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB
Experience with API development ( REST, HTTP 1/2, etc) with focus on their security & performance
Product Development Tools and Practices (e.g., Git, Github, Jira/Confluence, Slack, IaC, GitOps Flow) null
