This role also includes the responsibility of cleaning and sterilizing instruments, handling medications under supervision, and contributing to departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.

Responsibilities
- Assist the surgeon during operative and invasive procedures, ensuring the sterile field is maintained.
- Ensure the operating suite is fully prepared for each procedure, including the availability of necessary instruments and supplies.
- Monitor the PAR levels of surgical instruments and supplies, placing orders and organizing stock as needed.
- Clean and sterilize all surgical instruments according to established protocols.
- Handle medications under the direct supervision of the surgeon or nurse.
- Actively participate in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.
- Adhere to safety protocols and best practices to ensure optimal patient care and a safe working environment.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of three years of experience as an operating room technician or certification in OR technology.
- Ability to function independently as an operating room scrub in all surgical specialties.
- Education:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Graduation from a two-year Surgical Technologist program preferred.
- Licensure/Certification/Registry:
- Current BCLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required.
