The Systems Programmer/Analyst I will be responsible for overseeing numerous data-related activities for research studies involving archival data analysis and new data collection. Core responsibilities include data manipulation/formatting, data processing (e.g., running R scripts), data entry and harmonizing variables across studies, developing data dictionaries, working with relational databases (e.g., in Access and SQL), creating screening forms, and developing data reports. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in coding and data management, plus experience working in a research environment.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities
- Collaborate in the design and maintenance of server database systems.
- Assist in statistical analysis for projects.
- Assist in training department personnel on tools used to capture, enter and track data.
- Collaborate in the development and dissemination of data management and tracking programs necessary for protocols.
- Troubleshoot applications.
- Provide quality assurance of all aspects of data management including data flow, verification, analysis, assessment, archival database, security and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with the lead programmer in the creation and implementation of databases and applications
- Typically has completed a four-year academic degree including courses in Computer Programming, Systems Analysis, System Development, or Systems Engineering
- has acquired Core IT skills and knowledge via practical experience.
- Experience working in a research setting preferred.
- Experience using the REDCap preferred.
- Experience running R scripts preferred.
- Has mastered the essential knowledge base for an IT professional.
- Has mastered the essential IT principles and analytical rules that guide their application in practical situations.
- Able to perform basic/standard IT procedures and protocols.
- Relies on buddy system/coach to demonstrate applied skills and to guide non-routine actions.
- Higher education (Bachelors/Masters) may be required per Grants
- Act 34 with renewal
