Under the general supervision of the manager, has technical responsibility for manufacturing, quality control or subcontractor processes which must yield acceptable product. May act as group leader for other technicians/technologists engaged in mutual technical work. Applies intensive and diversified knowledge and practices in broad areas of assignments. Makes independent decisions on problems and methods and represents the division in conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work.

The base salary range for this position in [[stateProvince]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[cust_salaryMin]] and $[[cust_salaryMax]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. - Plans, develops, and coordinates a large and important project or a number of smaller projects.
- Performs complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
- May develop and evaluate plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities to be carried out by others.
- Organizes own work and that of other technicians/technologists who may be assigned as assistants on projects. Estimates personnel needs and schedules and assigns work to meet completion dates.
