We are seeking an experienced Optician to join our team. As an Optician, you will assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses, ensuring their satisfaction with their vision correction needs. You will also provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional and welcoming environment in the optical department.
### Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in selecting eyeglasses and contact lenses based on their prescription and personal preferences
- Take accurate measurements of customers' facial features and optical parameters to ensure proper fit and alignment of eyewear
- Educate customers on lens options, coatings, and frames to help them make informed decisions
- Adjust and repair eyewear as needed to ensure proper fit and comfort
- Maintain accurate records of customer prescriptions and orders
- Collaborate with the optometrist or ophthalmologist to ensure accurate interpretation of prescriptions
- Keep up-to-date with the latest trends in eyewear fashion and technology
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Maintain a clean and organized optical department
### Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an Optician or in a similar role
- Knowledge of optical systems, anatomy, and medical coding
- Familiarity with aseptic technique for handling contact lenses
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in retail sales is a plus
- Knowledge of ophthalmology or experience working with senior care patients is a plus
