Responsibilities: - Assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses based on their prescription and personal preferences - Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features to ensure proper fit and comfort of eyewear - Educate customers on lens options, coatings, and frame styles to help them make informed decisions - Adjust and repair eyewear as needed, including frame adjustments, lens replacements, and minor repairs - Maintain accurate records of customer prescriptions, orders, and payments - Collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmologists to ensure accurate prescription fulfillment - Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in eyewear fashion and technology Skills: - Strong knowledge of optical principles, lens materials, and frame styles - Proficiency in using optical equipment such as lensometers, pupillometers, and frame adjusting tools - Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with customers and provide exceptional customer service - Attention to detail to accurately measure customers' eyes and ensure proper fit of eyewear - Knowledge of medical billing and coding procedures related to vision care services - Familiarity with ophthalmology procedures, including vital signs measurement and aseptic technique - Understanding of physiology related to vision care and eye health As an Optician, you will play a crucial role in helping customers find the perfect eyewear that meets their visual needs and personal style. You will utilize your expertise in optical principles and frame styles to assist customers in selecting the right eyeglasses or contact lenses. Additionally, you will work closely with optometrists and ophthalmologists to ensure accurate prescription fulfillment.
