Position Summary : Ensure that the facilities within Lenze Americas achieve the highest and most cost-effective standards that provide all employees with a safe and secure work environment. These goals will be achieved by developing strategies, managing projects, and implementing policies and procedures related to health, safety, and work environment while complying with established regulatory and legal guidelines. As well as ensuring the continuous operation of the facilities of Lenze Americas through implementing and monitoring a facility management program, including preventative maintenance and life-cycle requirements.

Responsibilities

Position Title : EHS (Enviornmental, Health & Safety) and Facilities Manager

Location : Uxbridge, MA

Potential Earnings : $105,000 - $120,000 (Dependent on Experience)

Responsibilities :

Compliance, Safety, and Training :

  • Manage and train staff on safety compliance programs such as LOTO, Hazard Communication, EAP, Hearing Conservation, PPE, Hot Work, Confined Spaces, Respiratory Protection, CPR, AED, First Aid and BBP, etc.
  • Manage compliance reviews, general risk assessments, and other safety assessments to support Environmental Health & Safety, Facilities, and Sustainability management.
  • Maintain relevant maintenance and EHS logs and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate the purchase, proper use, maintenance, and inspection of all applicable PPE.
  • Know and enforce compliance with regulatory requirements (i.e. OSHA, EPA, etc.), including company EHS policies and procedures in collaboration with supervisors.
  • Ability to oversee Hazardous Waste Storage area and ensure regulatory agency compliance i.e., labeling, containment, proper disposal, documentation, etc.
  • Assist in emergency response and provide first aid treatment.
  • Develop and manage a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
  • Participate / lead Plant Safety Committee.
  • Oversee training program to operate forklift equipment, rider jack and pallet jack safely.
  • Prepare and present relevant EHS training and certification programs.
  • Participate in detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis.

Facilities and Vendor Maintenance :

  • Plan and manage facility central services such as visitor management and parking.
  • Supervise all vendor and contract services necessary to maintain the facility, including fire protection, custodial, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, equipment maintenance, solid waste disposal, pest control, drinking water.
  • Serve as one of the organization's safety representatives during relevant audits, including OSHA, etc. Proactively identify safety, training and compliance issues and develop plans to correct any areas of opportunity.
  • Manage contractors and vendors for safety and licensing requirements.
  • Manage and review service contracts to ensure that facility management needs are being met.
  • Conduct final inspection and closeout process for all vendors.
  • Walk the manufacturing floor regularly to establish an EHS presence and provide support.
  • Conduct daily and monthly EHS Meetings / Training and schedule as needed.
  • Write, implement, and manage EHS Programs, Policies and Procedures.
  • Advise on and monitor energy efficiency.
  • Respond to facility and equipment alarms and system failures. Provide prompt response to requests and issues identified by facility occupants.
  • Allocate and manage facility space for maximum efficiency.
  • Budgets :

  • Generate and present regular reports and reviews of facility and safety-related budgets, finances, contracts, expenditures, and purchases.
  • Develop and implement cost reduction initiatives.
  • Prepare and track budget for EHS, facilities, and security.
  • Requirements

    Experience :

  • B.S. in Industrial Safety Management, Occupational, Health and Safety Sciences, or Facilities Management or, 8-10 years of relevant experience and certifications
  • General knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other government regulations
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in an Environmental, Health, and Safety position - previous manufacturing industry a plus.
  • Knowledge of building systems, electrical and mechanical systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical Systems and Refrigeration).
  • Demonstrated project management skills with an ability to manage and deliver on multiple and complex projects and gain alignment across departmental, functional areas.
  • Microsoft Office Applications and the skills necessary to learn and use various computer software programs.
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
  • Detail oriented and able to manage multiple conflicting priorities, and exemplify process management, while maintaining composure and exercising organizational and leadership agility.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships to gain support and achieve results.
  • Must be flexible and agile to support Lenze business needs and may be assigned projects and / or other duties outside of normal job functions to meet the needs and demands of the business.
  • This position requires the ability to regularly sit at a desk for long periods of time and perform physical tasks including but not limited to lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, and reaching. Continuous mental and / or visual attention; the work requires constant alertness to monitor warehouse processes and / or identify problems. The work environment will at times be in a warehouse setting, which is cold and may be exposed to dust, fumes, dirt, noise, and water. Requires ability to travel as needed with occasional overnight travel. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a motor vehicle record check. Ability to meet above description of position with or without reasonable accommodation.
