Electrical Journeyman/Foreman

Role and Responsibilities

· Installation: Assemble & Install solar panels, modules, support structures, inverters, and other PV system components, ensuring proper wiring, grounding, and electrical terminations. Experience in solar, battery, or generator installation.

· Maintenance & Repair: Troubleshoot, repair, and replace PV-related wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Document work by taking pictures and communicating with our office.

· Code Compliance: Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant local codes. Check the integrity of wiring, grounding, and electrical terminations.

· Safety: Follow proper safety procedures while working at heights and on electrical equipment.

· Troubleshooting: Double-check that all required tools, parts, and inventory are loaded on the truck before leaving the warehouse. Identify and resolve electrical problems within solar systems.

· Training & Mentoring: May train and mentor apprentices.

· Communication: Work with operations managers, local inspectors, and potential customers to ensure projects are completed successfully.

· Project Management: May be involved in managing projects, including reviewing plans, executing solar layouts, and leading teams.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Certifications: Journeyman electrician certification and potentially solar-specific (NABCEP Certification or Currently hold NABCEP Credits). Complete understanding of the NEC code book or plan to attend classes to gain these skills.

· Safety Knowledge: Thorough understanding of electrical safety procedures. Strong commitment to safety protocols and ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards.

• Ability to read and interpret single and three-line drawings.

• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical codes, wiring, and PV systems.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues.
• Communication: Good communication skills to interact with colleagues, inspectors, and potentially customers.
• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

· Certifications: Journeyman electrician certification and potentially solar-specific NABCEP PV install certification or currently hold NABCEP Credits

· Paperwork and Reporting: Complete necessary documentation including daily reports, safety logs, and progress updates.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Ability to lead and motivate a team, and delegate tasks

Overall Supervision over job site. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, co-workers, and supervisors/managers.

Essential Functions

· Loading and unloading deliveries

· At least 2 years of journeyman experience

· Valid Driver’s license

· Good Math and problem-solving skills

· Using heavy equipment

· Conduct inventory for the company warehouse – Tools, equipment, hardware

· Assisting in all day-to-day operations, including delivering plans and other documents to other businesses

Working Environment

• Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.

• Comfortable working on ladders and at heights.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 45 per week

Compensation Package:
