What are the responsibilities and job description for the Zookeeper position at Leo's Petting Zoo?
zookeeper will load and unload the animals to and from the events, we are a mobile petting zoo so you will need your own transportation to arrive at the farm, and be able to carry 50lbs. when present at the events it is imperative to pay attention that none of the animals get hurt and that they stay safe and hydrated during the time of the petting zoo.
Summary
As a Zookeeper, you will be essential in caring for a diverse array of animals while ensuring their health and well-being. Reporting to the Zoo Manager. You will utilize your skills in animal handling, veterinary care, and environmental law to maintain a safe and enriching environment. Your knowledge of animal anatomy will support conservation efforts, making you a vital part of our mission to educate the public and promote wildlife preservation. Qualifications
- Knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy
- Experience in care and animal handling
- Familiarity with environmental law and taxonomy
- Proficient in GIS and microbiology techniques
- Skills in animal restraint and pet care
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

- Evening shift
- Every weekend
- Rotating weekends
- Weekends as needed
