Qualifications: Current MA License covering grades 9-12
Leominster Center for Excellence (LCE) is seeking a passionate, creative, and insightful educator. LCE is a small innovation high school and a member of the Big Picture Learning network.
Job responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and implementing an individualized program of instruction that capitalizes on students’ interests and real-world learning.
- Guiding students as they seek and explore internship opportunities.
- Assisting students in the development of projects which demonstrate competency across all learning domains and capitalize on their interests and real-world learning experiences.
- Contributing to the creation and maintenance of a positive school culture and community.
- Ensuring that all students graduate with a viable five-year plan for success.
- Provide direct service to students with disabilities
- Participate in the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process by attending IEP meetings, work collaboratively with IEP team members, complete and prepare IEP paperwork, and deliver instruction in a meaningful and appropriate way to enable students to progress toward goals outlined in the IEP.
- Complete Progress Reports.
- Plan, implement, and adapt instructional activities
- Administer appropriate educational assessments to determine eligibility for special education and to gather data for the development of the IEP
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curricular goals, and in congruency with those goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects
- Provide appropriate behavior management strategies and techniques in order to maintain a safe and effective learning environment
- Collaborate with related service professionals.
- Communicate routinely with parents and other school personnel
- Perform duties to keep classroom area neat, clean, and safe
- Supervise support staff (paraprofessionals/tutors)
