Virtual High School / Credit Recovery Teacher
ELL TEACHER
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB GOAL: Work collaboratively with the Principal and staff to deliver a high-quality learning experience for students enrolled in Leominster’s Personalized Virtual High School / Credit Recovery programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, prepare and deliver highly interactive instructional activities through various online applications.
- Create synchronous and asynchronous lesson plans throughout the year
- Be willing to oversee online classes as well as teach classes in-person
- Use formative and summative data to modify lessons for the students as appropriate
- Establish and communicate clear content and language objectives for all learning activities.
- Motivate and engage students
- Ensure students and families understand and can articulate expectations for success.
- Conduct personalized support/tutorial services for students as needed.
- Create a positive educational climate for students to learn in.
- Personalize instruction based on student learning needs.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development sessions.
- Work with guidance, support staff, and administrative teams to ensure initiatives are being met.
- Follow MA State Teacher Evaluation System.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current and valid certification as English as a Second Language (5 - 12) issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
- Current and valid Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement (SEI) issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts of Elementary and Secondary Education
