Overview:
Performs clerical tasks in keeping accounts, records, auditing, cashiering, and related bookkeeping tasks. Primary function of the job is to facilitate collection of delinquent accounts via communication with account holder. Provide comprehensive assistance, including payment plans, enforces payment plans and explaining complex policies, guidelines, and standard practices, both verbally and in writing. Requires knowledge of specialized databases, caseflow management, production of legal forms and documents, scheduling court proceedings, review of financial records and handling difficult customer contacts. Follows established guidelines to review and update account status. Maintains log of payment promises and pertinent account details and schedules follow-up communication with account holder. Monitors accounts receivable and cash receipt reports. Performs other related duties, as required.
STARTING SALARY WILL NOT EXCEED 10% OF THE BASE SALARY

- Create and modify payment plans.
- Performs research of databases to extract and report information for customers.
- Performs cashiering duties.
- Initiate new cases.
- Receipt case and non-case fees and costs.
- Maintain daily operation and statistical logs.
- Performs basic docketing and data entry.
Licensure or Certification Requirements:
Valid Florida Driver’s License as you may be required to work at either of our Annex locations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, and ABILITIES:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Ability to communicate with account holders in a courteous manner.
- Ability to effectively use business English, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
- Ability to interpret and apply applicable laws, regulations and policies.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as court pleadings, hand-written and typed.
- Ability to read and interpret memorandums, calendars and procedure manuals.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to resolve routine and non-routine problems in a professional manner.
Graduation from a community college; graduation from high school and two years of office clerical experience will substitute for the two years of college. The applicant must be able to operate a variety of office equipment, including computer in a Windows environment, proficiency in Word and Excel, Benchmark, and JIS a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must be able to read and interpret documents such as instructions and procedure manuals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Must be able to solve practical problems and to deal with a variety of work variables.
Must be able to interpret instructions either oral, written, diagram, or schedule in form.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
The ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Must be able to interact effectively with other staff and the public.
Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals or groups. Must be able to interpret assignment needs and to communicate effectively with employees and management. Must be able to work independently.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time, perform repetitive actions and motion of one or both hands, hear ordinary conversation and office sounds, conduct verbal communication in person and on the phone, and prepare and read written communication by hand and on PC.
