Job Summary:
The Order Selector position is located at the Leonard Distribution Center with operations in the U.S and has overall responsibility for accurately and efficiently selecting and preparing customer orders for shipment in a warehouse environment for the company. This position reports directly to the Manager, Distribution Center and does not have direct reports.
Job Responsibilities:
- Utilizes pick lists or handheld devices to locate and select items from warehouse shelves or bins, ensuring accuracy and completeness of orders.
- Verifies product codes, quantities, and descriptions against order specifications to ensure accurate fulfillment and minimize errors.
- Packages selected items securely, using appropriate packing materials and techniques, and affix shipping labels or tags to each package.
- Assists in cycle counting and physical inventory checks to maintain accurate inventory records and identify discrepancies or shortages.
- Inspects products for damage, defects, or discrepancies during the picking process, reporting any issues to warehouse supervisors for resolution.
- Adheres to safety protocols and guidelines, including proper lifting techniques, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe operation of warehouse equipment.
- Operates warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks or forklifts, safely and efficiently to move and transport materials as needed.
- Communicates effectively with warehouse supervisors and other team members to coordinate order picking activities, resolve issues, and ensure smooth workflow.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area, including shelving units, aisles, and packing stations, to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Provides excellent customer service by responding to inquiries, assisting with order inquiries, and addressing customer concerns or requests as needed.

Education/Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in warehouse operations, order picking, or inventory management preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Stamina to stand and walk for extended periods while picking orders and moving between warehouse locations.
- Flexibility to bend, stoop, and reach to access items on lower shelves or in bins.
- Skill in handling small items and operating handheld devices or scanners with precision.
- Ability to push or pull carts or pallet jacks loaded with merchandise as needed.
- Capacity to perform repetitive tasks, such as picking items from shelves or packing orders, with accuracy and efficiency.
- Awareness of safety hazards in the warehouse environment and adherence to proper lifting techniques and safety protocols to prevent injuries.
- Stamina to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands throughout the shift.
